Are these bone-conducting type earphones?

This product is not a bone-conducting type. Instead, it is an open-ear type that transmits sound by air vibration. PSZ (Personalized Sound Zone) technology allows sound waves to cancel each other out at a set distance from the driver (the source of the sound), preventing leakage of sound to the surrounding environment.

Does this product support noise canceling?

The product is an open-ear type that takes in outside noise naturally, and so does not support noise canceling.

Can the ear cushions and ear pads be removed and replaced?

The MWE001, MBE001, and MBN001 ear cushions and the nwm ONE ear pads cannot be removed or replaced. Removing them forcibly may damage the product.

There is no sound.
  • Please confirm that the device is securely connected to the device in use.
  • For Bluetooth connection type products, please confirm that the connection is made via Bluetooth. If this is not paired, configure by following the procedure shown here (FAQ_link to pairing method).
  • Check that the volume on your device is not turned down.
  • Restart the audio app that you are using for listening. Restarting the device that you are using, such as the smartphone or PC, may resolve the problem.

The sound volume is low.
  • Because this product is an open-ear type affected by outside noise, the listening environment may make it difficult to hear sound from the product.
  • In order to use PSZ technology for sound leakage prevention, playback at a higher volume than regular earphones is required. This is a characteristic of the product, not a malfunction.
  • For wired-type products, depending on the model of conversion connector used, it may result in a lower volume. Either try using a different conversion connector or connect to a device that does not require such a connector, then check how it sounds.
  • This problem may be resolved by adjusting how the product is worn. Check that the product is being worn correctly.

My ears hurt.
  • If you feel any pain or abnormality, immediately stop using the product.
  • Check that the product is being worn correctly.

“LE_Product name” and “Product name” are displayed on the Bluetooth device screen.
  • At first, “LE_Product name” is displayed, then after a few seconds, “Product name” is displayed.

Can Bluetooth be used overseas?

The Bluetooth function of our products has only acquired certification under the radio wave and other laws of the country of sale.  Use of the Bluetooth function in some countries and regions is restricted.  When using our products in other than the country of sale, confirm the laws, regulations, and other conditions of the country or region in which they will be used.

There is no sound on the earphones from the second device when using a multipoint connection.

Multipoint connection is a feature that can simultaneously connect two devices in standby. However, audio can only be played from one profile of one device. Audio cannot be played from two devices simultaneously.

NTT sonority warrants that the Product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary consumer use for one year from the date of original purchase (or, in the case of pre-orders and crowd-funding purchases, from the date of shipment) (the “Warranty Period”), subject to the terms, exclusions and limitations set forth herein.

During the Warranty Period, in the event of a covered defect, NTT sonority shall in its sole discretion either: (i) repair the Product using either new or refurbished parts that meet or exceed NTT sonority’s specifications for original parts; (ii) replace the Product with a new or refurbished product of the same model or, if not available, of the nearest available model; or (iii) refund the purchase price of the Product.

What is Not Covered

This Limited Warranty does not cover products purchased from anyone other than NTT sonority or an Authorized Dealer. Amazon and Indiegogo are the only “Authorized Dealers” for purposes of this Limited Warranty. Third-party resellers are not Authorized Dealers, even if they sell the product through the Amazon or Indiegogo platforms. This Limited Warranty also does not cover claims asserted by anyone other than the original purchaser of the Product, claims made outside the Warranty Period (even if the defect occurred during the Warranty Period), claims made without a dated purchase receipt or other proof of purchase or claims for Products that have had their serial numbers or rating labels altered or removed. And it does not cover products purchased in “AS IS” condition or sold or noted as “DEMO” or “DISPLAY”.

This Limited Warranty does not cover defects, damages or loss caused by: (i) accident (e.g., accidental physical impact, submersion or exposure to liquid, humidity, smoke or extreme temperatures); (ii) theft or loss of the Product or any of its components or accessories; (iii) abuse, misuse, neglect or failure to observe any and all instructions contained in the instruction manual furnished at the time of original purchase; (iv) acts of nature such as fire, flood, water damage, lightning, power surges (or similar electrical abnormalities), earthquake or tornado; (v) interference from other equipment or incompatibility with other products, software or services; (vi) battery leakage or malfunction; (vii) use for commercial purposes or any purpose other than personal, family or household use; (viii) alteration or repair by anyone other than NTT sonority or an authorized service provider; or (ix) modification or alteration of the Product’s software, firmware or other operating systems other than via an NTT sonority- provided download or by an authorized service provider in accordance with NTT sonority-provided software, firmware or other operating system upgrade or update. It also does not cover normal wear and tear, normal depletion of consumable parts, or cosmetic damage that does not impact the functionality of the Product, such as scratches or stains, or damage that occurs during shipment or handling.

This Limited Warranty does not cover software or services, even if packaged or sold with the Product or identified as available through any owner’s manual or other materials. NTT sonority does not warrant the uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Product or any software or service available through use of the Product. Performance of the Product can be affected by factors outside the control of NTT sonority, including but not limited to system configuration, software, applications, Your internet access, data download and upload speeds, third party services for which subscriptions are required, distance from broadcasters, signal strength, and data and operator control of the system. It is Your responsibility to determine compatibility and integration with other products, services, or systems.

This Limited Warranty does not cover any accessories or any other products that may be used with the Product, whether attached to the Product or sold separately, including but not limited to any batteries, cables, straps, carrying pouches or cases, tail tips, cable holders, earphone tips, stands, cable boxes, adaptors, removable covers or cushioning, etc. It does not cover the Product’s packaging or packing materials. And, it does not cover installation, removal, setup, adjustment, maintenance, signal reception issues, cleaning, periodic checkups, or alterations or adjustments required for operation outside the United States.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE WARRANTY AND REMEDIES SET FORTH HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES. ANY AND ALL STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE WARRANTY PERIOD SET FORTH ABOVE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY MAY LAST, SO THE FOREGOING LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NTT SONORITY SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS OR COMMERCIAL LOSS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION OR LOSS OF DATA, WHETHER RESULTING FROM BREACH OF WARRANTY, TORT, CONTRACT OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY, AND THE ENTIRE LIABILITY OF NTT SONORITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.

How to Obtain Warranty Service

For instructions on how to obtain service under this Limited Warranty, please contact us at 3-20-2, Nishishinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 163-1432 JAPAN or customer-us@support-ntt-sonority.com. Our customer service team may ask you some questions to determine whether Your Product is eligible for warranty service. NTT sonority or our service partner will provide You with a pre-paid shipping label that You can use to send us the Product, along with Your dated purchase receipt or other valid proof of purchase. If we determine that Your Product exhibits a covered defect, we will, at our option, repair or replace the Product and ship it to You at our cost, or refund You the purchase price of the Product. If Your Product does not exhibit a covered defect, or if it is otherwise ineligible for service under this Limited Warranty, we will make reasonable efforts to return the Product to You at Your cost upon request, but we make no guarantees and accept no liability for ineligible Products shipped to us.

If NTT sonority elects to repair or replace the Product, the repaired or replaced Product shall continue to be covered under this Limited Warranty for the remaining portion of the original Warranty Period, or for three (3) months from the date the repaired or replaced Product is delivered to You, whichever is longer. Any replaced parts (if the Product is repaired), or the original Product (if a replacement Product or refund is provided), will not be returned to You and will become the property of NTT sonority and may be disposed of. It is Your responsibility to remove or backup any data, media, software or other materials stored or preserved in the Product before sending the Product to us. It is possible that such materials may be destroyed, lost or reformatted during service, and we will not be responsible for any such damage or loss.

Additional Information

This Limited Warranty applies to Products sold on or after March 1, 2023. NTT sonority may amend the terms of this Limited Warranty from time to time without notice; however any such changes shall only apply to Products purchased after the effective date of the change. What is California Proposition 65?

Also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, California Proposition 65 is a law that requires warning to consumers if a product exposes consumers to a wide variety of chemicals known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and/or other reproductive harm. Proposition 65 applies only in California.

Why do we place a Proposition 65 warning on this website?

The Prop 65 warning signifies one of two things:NTT sonority evaluated the product and determined that the product is above the “no significant risk level”
OR
NTT sonority has not evaluated the exposure level of the product, and the warning is provided based on the knowledge about the presence of a listed chemical.

Most NTT sonority products are below the Prop 65 level of concern; however, out of general caution, NTT sonority has chosen to place the Proposition 65 warning on this website.
